Holden's relationship to Phoebe

Phoebe is Holden's sister. He loves her sister very much except when Holden behaves in a very mean manner when Phoebe cries and has a fit. Holden cherishes Phoebe a lot because she is the closest relative Holden can connect to. Holden tries to connect to her by expressing his feelings, what he has gone through and how he thinks the real world is a phony. Whenever Holden spoke of Ally, he also spoke of Phoebe always wanting to be like them. Another reason why Holden cherishes Phoebe is because she thinks so highly of him.

blog for week three

"You ought to go to a a boy's school sometime. Try it sometime. It's full of Phonies."

1. The context in this describes Holden expressing how he felt about Pency to Sally.

2. This quote means that Holden still has feelings about him being kicked out and all.

3. This matters with the rest of the book because he spoke at the beginning of the book about how much he hated this school. He spoke about this phoniness up to these chapters.
